VIUP received Deputy Chairman of ICAK

On September 19th, 2017, Deputy Director Pham Thi Nham received Mr. KIM Jong-Hyun, Deputy Chairman of International Contractors Association of Korea (ICAK) and Mr. SHIN SamSup, Research Fellow of Research Center at ICAK.

At the meeting, Mr. KIM Jong-Hyun thanked the Deputy Director for warm welcome. He said that ICAK is a legal entity established in 1976 under the special law of Korea to support Korean construction companies in oversea projects. ICAK is now supporting more than 840 major construction companies including public enterprises, private companies and public financing corporations with oversea market information and business activities. At present, many Korean companies are moving to South East Asia and Vietnam is the priority. He hopes that ICAK will receive information on Vietnam market and VIUP and ICAK will build up long and sustainable cooperative relationship.

On behalf of VIUP, Deputy Director Pham Thi Nham briefly introduced facilities, staffs, and functions of the Institute. She said that during the current urban development process, VIUP pays attention to urban infrastructure and wants to cooperate with foreign organizations in research and consultancy. VIUP wants to share and learn about experiences from Korea in technical infrastructure, smart infrastructure, green infrastructure because these are rarely new issues in Vietnam.

Two sides also exchange experience on urban infrastructure development, development of industrial zones…

On this occasion, ICAK invited the leaders and specialists of VIUP to participate in two conferences held by ICAK in 2018 to share the information with Korean companies. He also asked VIUP specialists write the articles for Korean Building magazine. This is the opportunity for VIUP to advertise its own name among Korean construction companies.

Deputy Director Pham Thi Nham highly appreciated ICAK for the invitations and requests and said that VIUP is ready to cooperate with ICAK for two sides’ development. Two sides will sign MoU for this cooperation.
