Accordingly, the Hanoi Capital Region covers the capital city of Hanoi and the nine neighbouring provinces of Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang.
The decree set out the fields of coordination among the localities in the region, including economic and social fields, with priority being given to construction planning, healthcare, education and training, science and technology, environmental and protection, disaster prevention and adaptation to climate change, land management, population management, housing management, transport, preservation and development of culture, history and tourism.
The region’s coordinating council will be headed by a Deputy Prime Minister. The three Vice Chairpersons will be the Minister of Planning and Investment, Minister of Construction, and the Chairman of Hanoi municipal People's Committee.
Council members will include the leaders of the relevant ministries and sectors plus the Chairmen of the provincial People’s Committee of the nine above-mentioned provinces.
The decree will take effect from December 5, 2021.
