Japan grants US$1.38 million non-refundable aid for nine projects in Viet Nam

The Japanese Government, via the Japanese Embassy in Viet Nam, on March 10 announced a non-refundable aid worth US$1.38 million for nine projects in Viet Nam.

These projects involve a range of areas including procurement of patient monitor for Da Nang Hospital, cluster bomb disposal in central Quang Binh province; upgrading of rehabilitation and vocational training equipment for Thai Binh province's Association for Agent Orange/dioxin Victims, and construction of preschools in Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai province.

The others include a project on building Goc Sui Bridge in Ha Hoa, Phu Tho province; a construction project of domestic water supply system in Coc Phat village, Tuyen Quang Province; a project on improvement of wastewater treatment capacity in Dau Go island, Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh province; a project on supplying fire protection equipment in seven provinces in Viet Nam and a project on construction of irrigation works and domestic water supply in Huoi Xa village, Nghe An province.

Besides, the Japanese Government will also help improve livelihoods of ethnic minorities in Son La province via a non-refundable aid for Japan's non-governmental organizations.

Since 199, Japan has implemented as many as 724 projects with total aid of up to US$64.5 million./.
