Deputy Minister of Construction Le Quang Hung and Mr. Philippe Orliange - Global Executive Director of AFD signed the Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Ambassador Nicolas Warnery
Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi appreciated the AFD’s contributions to local development, particularly in construction and urban planning, and highly valued its cooperation pledges, including helping the country realize its COP26 commitments.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi highly appreciated the cooperation and contribution of AFD to Vietnam over the past time, especially in the field of construction, planning and urban development, and believed that, the Memorandum of Understanding would strengthen the practical and sustainable cooperation in the areas climate-resilient urban development, green planning, emission reduction low carbon, green growth, green building, energy saving, capacity building and improvement of policy institutions in urban development.
For his part, French Ambassador Nicolas Warnery spoke that the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Construction and AFD would strengthen the traditional cooperation relationship between two sides in support of sustainable and resilience urban development, especially promoting the implementation of the commitments made at COP26 through technical assistance projects on climate-resilient urban development, smart city development and urban development investment.
